Business Watch

CRIME FREE BUSINESS

Winsford 1-5 industrial estate has developed and improved over recent years and this is due in part to the close relationship that has built up between the businesses and the police. A ‘Business Watch Scheme’ was set up some years ago and has contributed to crime falling consistently.

There are quarterly meetings for business representatives which are attended by CAT officers and the Business Watch Officer to discuss issues and give advice. Crime reduction visits are also made to premises to offer advice on site.

The industrial estate has been successful in achieving Business Improvement District status, which means that the majority of the businesses have agreed to a levy on their business rates to pay for a raft of improvements including CCTV and SmartWater. This initiative starts this April and will run for 5 years, making the area a desirable place to set up a business with resultant incoming investment into the Vale Royal area.
