Mobile CCTV

Following on from the successful CCTV scheme in Northwich town centre, the Vale Royal Community Partnership decided to respond to an invitation from the Home Office to bid for additional funding for similar projects.

As the majority of Vale Royal Borough consists of a number of small towns and villages the Partnership is concerned with enhancing the safety of those communities where crime and anti-social behaviour affects the quality of life of the residents. So, in response to consistent and constant appeals from local communities for CCTV to be extended across the Borough, the Partnership  decided that a mobile system would be an appropriate and cost effective means of combating crime and disorder in the rural areas.

The vehicle is deployed to emerging ‘hot-spots’ of activity to deal with problems early in the cycle of development in order to prevent escalation. The vehicle is also available to support the work of each of the agencies involved in the Partnership and the various community groups. There has already been a good deal of demand for the vehicle.
