Safety Advice
"Although the detection of crime is an important aspect of police work, Taking steps to minimise the risks in the beginning can prevent members of our community and visitors from becoming victims and will make the criminal think twice about committing crime in your area."
In Vale Royal we are totally committed to working in partnership with other agencies to provide a quality of service which is second to none. However, we believe that the most important partnership of all is the one which exists between ourselves and the people we serve.
Most crimes are committed not by hardened criminals but by the opportunist thief. We hope that by following the advice in these pages we can help you to reduce significantly the opportunity for criminals to make you a victim. By working together we can create a safer Vale Royal and improve the environment in which we all live and work.
Take a look at some of our tips to improve your security.
STOP PRESS A number of companies are contacting residents in the Vale Royal Borough, especially the Frodsham area, offering home security advice. Complaints are being received by the police and Vale Royal Borough Council which suggest that they are of the cold-call, hard sell variety and sales people are asking personal questions over the telephone and asking to make an appointment to visit. Whilst the majority of such calls are from bona-fide companies the techniques employed have caused some concerns.
If you are interested in what the company are offering then refer to our special page for further advice on how to proceed. However, if you have any doubts about the caller's credentials then advise the person that you will be taking advice from the police on security matters, and don't make an appointment for their representative to call on you at home.
